So, I'm all settled in to watch debate on the national concealed carry reciprocity amendment, wishing I had a bag of microwave popcorn, when Harry Reid pushes consideration of Senator Thune's amendment back to 9:30 Wednesday morning, debate ending at 12:00. 60 votes required to pass it.
Thought you might like to know.

Why would Reid push it back...? Maybe he is trying to muscle some support from fence sitters...

Realistically, what are the odds of this passing with 40 republicans in the senate? If it does pass, what sort of concessions are going to pass along with it?
ReplyDeleteHere are two relevant Senate votes from this term, on checking firearms in baggage on Amtrak trains and on park carry:

Not sure if the same folks will vote for this one.
Missed by two. Webb and Warner both voted yes though. It was much closer than I thought it would be. I didn't get to see much main stream media from my home away from home, but what I saw made me laugh at the anti-gun panic.
